You must remember this… as time goes by
Each fall at UCUCC, people aged 55 and older are invited to gather for two days at the Rainbow Lodge near North Bend. The costs for the speaker, two days of food, one night of housing and lots of fun are $125 for a shared room with one person and $140 for a single. Some scholarship funds are available.
This year’s retreat will be held on Sept. 25 and 26. We will explore the topic of what happens to our brain and memory as we age. Our guest speaker will be Dr. Sheri Mizumori, Professor and Chair of the Department of Psychology at the University of Washington. Dr. Mizumori is an expert on many aspects of the aging brain and is known to be a stimulating speaker. In addition to Dr. Mizumori’s talk, we will have some fun looking at how various biblical characters aged and how they changed over time. On Monday evening, Alan Klokars will once again lead us down memory lane as we try to recall songs from earlier times in our lives. Words will be provided as we join in group singing.
Attending our annual senior retreat is a great way to get to know others and deepen friendships in a comfortable and welcoming setting. We always have a great time listening, learning, sharing our ideas, visiting, exploring nature, and worshiping together. Watch for the opportunity to register in the Narthex on August 27, September 3, 10, and 17.
Don’t forget—we would love to have you join us!
