On Sunday, December 1, 2019 Saint Luke the Evangelist Universalist Orthodox Church and University Congregational UCC blessed our Covenant of Understanding including: “Celebrating the gift of God’s presence in our midst whenever we gather, and celebrating our mutual commitment to Christ’s vision of an inclusive church, we covenant for UCUCC to share the building for Saint Luke’s to offer weekly worship. UCUCC honors its commitment to stewardship and also mission outreach in working together to develop this agreement, and together we covenant as well to live within the spirit of this agreement, to work together to find solutions as questions and issues arise, and to move in good faith…”
The Rev. Fr. Deacon Maximus Christopher, Patrick-Joan, and Reader Micah Wilger attended Sunday morning worship at UCUCC, where they were warmly welcomed, blessed our Covenant, exchanged gifts, offered prayers, and broke bread together. Sunday evening Saint Luke the Evangelist parish hosted a “temple-warming” Typika Eucharist and agape meal, and warmly welcomed Pastor Catherine and David Anderson, and also broke bread together.
Following the signings, we received the following note: “Dear UCUCC: Thank you for being our Nativity blessing. May God bless us all with many years! In Christ, St. Luke the Evangelist, with so much love from Fr. Max, Kh. P-J, and Micah. Merry Christmas!”
