Council reviewed the Financial Report and reports from Ministries and Leadership. The Futures Committee also reported on their progress and are happy to have hired Don Hill as our consultant for the process.
Beth Amsbury reported on the Spirit Workshops. There is gratitude from Spirit Workshop participants for the gifts UCUCC provides to Spirit Workshops. The leadership for Spirit Workshops is transitioning to involve more participants who are not UCUCC members.
Council voted unanimously to affirm the proposed lease with Community Psychiatric Clinic for their use of the Lin House in order for CPC to provide supported housing for low-income persons with chronic mental illness. This lease is for 1 year.
Council voted unanimously to support Tent City Collective (TCC) of the University of Washington in their efforts to bring Tent City 3 back to the UW Campus. A letter of support will be written and provided (as in the past).
Racial Justice Church
Council reviewed a draft resolution: Be it resolved that University Congregational United Church of Christ is called to be a Racial Justice Church, and voted unanimously to support the process to bring and recommend adoption of the proposed resolution at a special congregational meeting on August 4, 2019, called for this purpose.
