~ John Kloess, Planned Giving Committee
A few months ago, through a survey to our entire congregation, we asked what is important to you as you plan for your future and the futures of the people and organizations important to you. How can you best have your values and commitments become reality – both in your lifetime and beyond? How can legal documents, medical directives, responsible investing – to name a few – assist in your efforts?
Thanks to all of you who responded to our survey. We are pleased to announce that, beginning early next year, we will be sponsoring seminars after a number of Sunday services on a variety of topics in which you expressed an interest. More specifics will be announced as we get closer to the seminar dates, but our topics will most certainly include:
- Wills and Trusts – how can I be sure I have correctly covered everything – Trustees, POA’s, Medical Directives, etc?
- How can I best plan for Elder Care – either for me, my spouse, my elderly parents?
- How can I invest in a Socially Responsible manner
- How can I best make Tax Advantaged Charitable Contributions, during my lifetime or after, given the variety of options available – Gift Annuities, IRA Required Minimum Distributions (RMD’s), Donor Advised Funds – to name just a few?
Professionals in various fields will lead these discussions. More to come later as we close out this year and begin 2020!
