Seabeck All-Church Camp, July 7-12
~ submitted by the Seabeck Committee
Register for Seabeck by April 15
We want to know how many to plan for. Everybody is welcome. Please indicate on your registration form if you would like to request a scholarship. For other questions, see volunteers on Sundays in the Narthex at Seabeck table through the end of April or contact gro.ccuytisrevinu@kcebaes.
This year we will discuss The Faith Club: A Muslim, A Christian, A Jew – Three Women Search for Understanding. The three, led by Ranya Idliby, share their interfaith conversation that grew out of her child’s questions after the crisis started by September 11, 2001. This proved to be a deep challenge, emotionally and spiritually, which they lay out step-by-step. It’s an interesting and informative read. Copies are available in UCUCC’s Scheyer Library and from retail outlets. Read it even if you’re not coming to camp. Discussion at camp will be led by Beth Bartholomew.
Feedback for Seabeck Presenter Ali Mian:
On March 10, in a preview presentation for the adult program at Seabeck, Ali Mian from Seattle University led an audience of 44 in an interesting exploration of insights from Qur’anic and Biblical texts to problems in life today.
If you attended, he would very much like your feedback about which topics you are looking forward to exploring in more depth. Please email him at ude.uelttaes@anaim.
