»Get Involved
God
is still speaking, inviting us into wholeness, abundance, community, and
peace with justice. We respond, seeking to say "Yes" to God with our lives,
through our mission and outreach ministries. We respond by...
doing
justice, seeking peace, building community, and celebrating all creation.
The
ways in which we do this are as varied as each individual church member.
What follows in this section is a partial list of ways that you can get
involved. Here's what you'll find behind the links at the left:
Some of the mission and
outreach activities at University Congregational United Church of Christ are
directly sponsored by the church, and are directed by members of our boards.
Others are more loosely affiliated with the church and may be run by their
own nonprofit boards or be part of larger ecumenical activities.
Small Groups
Look here for resources on how to get involved in a
small group within the church, whether for Bible study, fellowship or
governance.
Lay Leadership Within the Church
Most of the programs and initiatives of University Congregational United
Church of Christ are operated by members involved in positions of lay
leadership. There are many opportunities to serve in this way.
The 70-voice chancel choir is open to all who want to contribute to worship
by raising their voices in this way. Heidi Blythe directs the choir and is
assisted by David Nichols on organ and piano.
E-mail Heidi for more information or
visit the music section.
